About Hope Centre
Hope Centre opened in May 2024 with a desire to serve the local community through practical care, personal support, and by sharing the hope that is found in Jesus Christ. We are a registered charity with an amazing team of volunteers who make everything possible.
2024
Even while the building was being renovated, God was already at work. People from the area began coming in, asking questions about the Christian faith and requesting Bible studies. It was clear that God was drawing people to Himself before the doors had officially opened.
Our very first event was a baptism service for someone from the local community who had recently trusted in Christ. It was a wonderful reminder that God’s work is about people, not buildings.
2026
The work of the charity will continue under Hope Centre, but as more local people came to faith in the Lord Jesus, they expressed a desire to meet together on Sundays for worship and throughout the week for Bible teaching and prayer.
In March 2026, a new local church was established, meeting at Hope Centre. We gather every Sunday to remember the Lord Jesus in the Breaking of Bread and throughout the week for prayer, Bible teaching, and fellowship.
We are a Bible-based, elder-led local church seeking to know Christ, make Him known, and serve our community, all for God’s glory.
Spirit and Truth
In John 4, the Lord Jesus told a broken and hurting woman that the Father is seeking those who will worship Him in spirit and truth.
That remains God’s desire today. He is still revealing Himself to broken people, saving them by His grace, and calling them to become true worshippers.
For that reason, we are committed to allowing God to build His church in the way that He wants. Therefore, we seek to be both empowered by the Holy Spirit and governed by the truth of God’s Word.
Rather than being shaped by personal preference, tradition, or culture, our desire is to live out God’s pattern for a New Testament church — faithful to the Bible, dependent upon the Holy Spirit, and centred on the Lord Jesus Christ.
